Adenta Kumi’s claims against justices are serious and deserve investigation – Inusah Fuseini

Former Tamale Central MP Inusah Fuseini is not surprised by recent events. State security operatives are seeking more information from Alfred Ababio Kumi, known as Adenta Kumi. This follows Kumi's allegations against members of the judiciary.

Speaking on JoyNews' AM Show, Mr. Fuseini addressed Kumi’s claims. These claims involve justices of the superior court and a lawyer in a petition against the Chief Justice. They have raised significant public concern.

“I am not surprised,” he said. “The allegations against the justices and the lawyer drew serious public concern.”

Kumi, a former parliamentary candidate for Adenta, recently petitioned the President. He wants to dissolve the committee investigating the Chief Justice. He claims he saw committee members dining with Thaddeus Sory, a lawyer for one of the petitioners.

Some legal professionals doubt such a meeting occurred in public. However, Mr. Fuseini emphasized that Kumi’s petition relies on this alleged encounter.

“The whole basis of Kumi's petition is this alleged meeting,” he explained. “If committee members met with counsel about the case, it suggests collusion.”

He added that this could undermine the fairness of the process. If true, it compromises the integrity of the committee.

“If they act in bad faith, they aren’t fit for this role,” he stated. “But if no meeting happened, then there’s no merit to his claim.”

Mr. Fuseini concluded that due to the seriousness of these allegations, thorough investigation by security bodies is necessary.
