Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has called on President John Dramani Mahama to immediately revoke the Chief of Staff’s directive that has led to widespread dismissals in the public sector.
In a letter dated February 18, 2025, Afenyo-Markin argued that reversing the decision would uphold the rule of law and protect constitutional rights.
He urged the President to reinstate affected employees, direct the Minister for Labour to oversee compliance, and ensure a report is submitted within 30 days.
According to him, such corrective action would prevent legal battles, restore confidence in governance, and demonstrate Mahama’s commitment to fairness and inclusivity.
He emphasized that decisive leadership at this moment would reaffirm the administration’s dedication to justice.
