President Nana Akufo-Addo has condemned the “Agyapadie” document as a fabrication by opponents aiming to damage his political career.
Speaking at the Ghana Report Summit on "Dealing with Misinformation and Disinformation – Election 2024," he stressed the document falsely alleges the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) scheme to annex state assets.
He recounted past false accusations against him and highlighted the dangers of misinformation. President Akufo-Addo called for stronger regulations, collaborations with tech companies, public awareness, and fact-checking to combat false information.
He urged political actors to commit to truthfulness and transparency, warning that misinformation undermines democracy.
