The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to uphold democratic principles and allow due process to resolve the Ablekuma North parliamentary election dispute.
His statement follows comments by Minority Chief Whip Frank Annoh-Dompreh, who warned of NPP-led protests if the Electoral Commission (EC) fails to declare the seat for Akua Afriyie.
Speaking to Channel One News on Thursday, February 6, Ahiagbah dismissed the NDC’s call for a rerun, insisting that the election was properly conducted and that the delays stemmed from what he described as vandalism by NDC supporters.
“The NDC should change its position and begin to act like the democrats they are purporting to be and allow the process to unfold,” he stated.
