Former President Nana Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to stop undermining the legacy of Dr. J.B. Danquah, arguing that continued attempts to discredit him are unjustified.

Speaking at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Kyebi during the 60th anniversary of Danquah’s passing, Akufo-Addo highlighted the late statesman’s critical role in Ghana’s democratic journey.

He lamented how Danquah faced harsh treatment under Kwame Nkrumah’s government and continues to be a subject of controversy.

Akufo-Addo stressed that Danquah’s contributions should serve as a guiding principle for Ghana’s democracy, urging citizens to uphold his vision.

He also shared how Danquah’s portrait in his office symbolizes his commitment to public service and the preservation of democratic ideals.
