John Oti Bless, Chairman of Parliament’s Sanitation and Water Resources Committee, is calling for President Nana Akufo-Addo to resign due to the government's failure to combat illegal mining (galamsey).
He criticized the president for not fulfilling his 2017 promise to put his presidency on the line to stop galamsey.
Despite this pledge, illegal mining continues to pollute water bodies, leading to concerns about water shortages.
Oti Bless, also the Nkwanta North MP, highlighted a World Bank report warning that Ghana may soon need to import water due to the damage caused by galamsey.
