Akufo-Addo to announce measures to address drought in Northern Ghana

President Akufo-Addo has vowed to address the severe drought affecting northern Ghana, which has devastated local agriculture.

Speaking at the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital's commissioning on August 15, he promised that the government would soon announce measures to support farmers impacted by the dry season.

Despite previous efforts through the ‘One Village, One Dam’ initiative to build dams for irrigation, the ongoing drought has limited their effectiveness and worsened the situation for farmers.
