Former Special Prosecutor Martin Amidu has urged President John Dramani Mahama to first address alleged financial irregularities at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) before tackling corruption elsewhere.
Amidu described the OSP as an “economic crime scene,” accusing former Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng’s administration of unlawful appointments and payroll violations.
He argued that Mahama must establish credibility by cleaning up the OSP before taking action on irregularities at the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) or reversing Akufo-Addo-era appointments.
Amidu stressed that Mahama’s early actions in office will determine his commitment to integrity and clean governance, challenging him to prove that his administration is serious about fighting corruption.
