Amoakohene moves to ease tensions before MMDCE confirmations

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has formed a team. This team will engage stakeholders in various districts. They are preparing for the confirmation of President John Dramani Mahama’s nominees. The nominees are for Municipal and District Chief Executives.

The team will meet with Assembly Members and other stakeholders. Their goal is to ensure a smooth confirmation process for the nominees. The Asante Mampong Municipal and Atwima Mponua District Assemblies have not announced their nominees yet. This follows the release of 41 other areas, including Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly.

Earlier this week, the Minister met with the appointees. He advised them to stop celebrating prematurely. Instead, he urged them to build relationships with those who feel aggrieved. They should focus on securing their confirmations.

Dr. Amoakohene also spoke with candidates who were not nominated. He encouraged them to be patient and stay committed to the party's goals. Some National Democratic Congress members have expressed dissatisfaction after the nominee list was released.

He called on party members to support all nominees. He assured them that no one would be excluded from future opportunities. "All aggrieved candidates are from our party," he stated. He emphasized that there are many ways to support the president beyond being nominated.
