Asuogyaman: DCE blocks education officials, teachers from attending MP’s teachers’ bungalow commissioning

A dispute arose in the Asuogyaman District as DCE Mavis Opokua Akunnor barred education officials and students from attending the commissioning of a teachers' bungalow funded by MP Thomas Ampem Nyarko.

The three-unit facility, financed through the MP’s share of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), aims to address teacher housing challenges at Adjena Senior High Technical School.

The DCE argued the project required commissioning by a Regional Minister, attributing the funding to central government.

However, the MP condemned the move as politically motivated, accusing the DCE of withholding his Common Fund allocation for months and failing to use the Assembly's 95% share effectively.

The Chief of Adjena Tafoman, Nana Twum Barimah III, praised the MP’s efforts and urged unity to prioritize community development over political interests.
