The Ajumako Enyan Essiam MP, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has been appointed Majority Leader of Ghana’s 9th Parliament.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) caucus retained its leadership from the 8th Parliament, emphasizing continuity.
Dr. Forson is supported by Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, MP for Ellembelle, who moves from Deputy Minority Leader to Deputy Majority Leader.
Governs Kwame Agbodza, Adaklu MP, continues as Majority Chief Whip, while Ahmed Ibrahim, Banda MP, becomes Deputy Majority Chief Whip.
The decision follows President-elect John Mahama's recommendation for Alban Bagbin to return as Speaker.
The NDC finalized its leadership lineup during a January 6 caucus meeting, signaling confidence in their team to tackle the challenges of the 9th Parliament.
