Assembly members in the Kwanwoma Municipality, Ashanti Region, have condemned an alleged raid on the residence of District Coordinating Director Eunice Korankye.

The incident, reportedly involving police officers and NDC members, led by the local NDC chairman, was captured in a viral video.

Presiding Member Anthony Kwame Nsiah debunked claims that Korankye stole assembly property, explaining the items taken were stored with her knowledge and approval. He called the act an abuse of power, urging unity and respect for local government officials.

Protests followed, with assembly members wearing red bands at the municipal office, demanding accountability and calling for calm.

Stakeholders, including the opposition NPP, have urged President John Mahama to denounce such actions, describing them as threats to Ghana’s governance and stability.
