The Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Berenice Owen-Jones, has reaffirmed her country’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s economic growth, particularly in the mining sector.
During a courtesy call on Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, she highlighted Australia’s $30 billion mining investments in West Africa, with a significant share in Ghana, as a key driver for job creation.
She expressed optimism about Atlantic Lithium’s pending project, which is expected to generate over 900 direct jobs upon parliamentary approval.
Additionally, she emphasized Australia’s role in advancing Ghana’s agriculture through initiatives like the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang welcomed the partnership, stressing the government's focus on sustainable mining and collaborative efforts to combat climate change.
