Awutu Senya East MCE Reaffirms Government's Commitment to Decongestion Exercise

The Municipal Chief Executive for Awutu Senya East, Hon. Seth Sabah Serwornoo-Banini, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to clean cities.

He spoke with Original TV News about ongoing decongestion efforts. Hon. Banini noted that there are empty markets in Kasoa for thousands of traders. He urged traders to move to these markets for a cleaner city.

Unfortunately, the decongestion exercise turned violent. Four Assembly taskforce officers were hospitalized after being attacked by traders. This incident happened while trying to clear roads and pedestrian walkways.

To restore order, the MCE plans to relocate all traders from walkways and roads. They will be moved to a satellite market at Iron City.

In another interview, Ernest Acheampong, chairman of the Kasoa Traders Association, apologized for the violence against authorities. He promised that the association would work with the assembly for a smoother process.

The government's decongestion efforts aim to improve living conditions and infrastructure in major cities.
