Former Attorney-General Nii Ayikoi Otoo has criticized his successor, Dr. Dominic Ayine, for withdrawing high-profile criminal cases, calling the move politically motivated.

Speaking on Morning Starr, Ayikoi Otoo argued that the discontinuation of cases involving National Democratic Congress (NDC) members lacked justification and suggested that political considerations influenced the decisions.

He cited the withdrawal of charges against Dr. Johnson Asiamah, who was later appointed Bank of Ghana Governor, as an example.

In response, Dr. Ayine defended his actions, stating that ethical concerns and legal defects in the cases informed his decision.
