Deputy Attorney-General nominee, Justice Srem-Sai, has affirmed that Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine will prioritize evidence gathering before prosecuting cases.
Speaking during his vetting, he assured that "my boss will not prosecute before looking for evidence" and pledged to support the use of IT to expedite legal processes.
Addressing his previous claim, Srem-Sai maintained that he saw an electronic memo advising former A-G Godfred Dame to discontinue the trial of Dr. Johnson Asiama, now the Bank of Ghana Governor. However, he admitted he could not provide physical proof.
Dr. Ayine had earlier cited a prosecution memo as the basis for dropping the charges, but Dame has denied its existence, challenging Ayine to produce the document for public scrutiny.
