Bagbin to meet Petroleum Commission CEO after confrontation with Minority Chief Whip

Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, will meet with Acting CEO of the Petroleum Commission, Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle, on January 30, following a heated confrontation between Hardcastle and Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh.

The altercation occurred during Dr. Omane Boamah’s vetting as Defense Minister-Designate on January 28.

Annoh-Dompreh has petitioned Bagbin to take “consequential actions” against Hardcastle, calling the incident an “unprovoked attack.”

Speaker Bagbin has acknowledged the seriousness of the situation and intends to hear Hardcastle’s side before considering the formation of a Privileges Committee to address the matter.
