Nurudeen Mohammed Mumuni is the MP for Nalerigu/Gambaga. He spoke about the ongoing conflict in Bawku. He called it a major challenge for Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee.
In an interview on Channel One Newsroom, he stressed the need for peace. Achieving lasting peace in Bawku is a top priority. He noted that concrete solutions are urgently needed to address the unrest.
Mumuni reaffirmed Parliament's commitment to resolving the conflict. This includes support from the Minority Caucus for government efforts. "Our biggest headache is bringing lasting peace to Bawku," he said.
He emphasized that no part of Ghana should be at war. Ghanaians can expect efforts to ensure peace in the country. The committee will support both the Interior Minister and Defence Minister.
Mumuni assured that the Minority is ready to help restore peace. "We will back the Interior Ministry and Defence Ministry," he added.
