Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia welcomed a delegation from the United Nations, led by H.E. Charles Abani, the UN Resident Coordinator in Ghana, to his residence on Tuesday, February 4.
During the visit, H.E. Abani expressed gratitude for Dr. Bawumia’s significant role in Ghana’s peace, democracy, and development, particularly highlighting his vision for the country’s digital economic transformation.
Dr. Bawumia was recognized for spearheading initiatives like the Ghana Card, Digital Address System, and Mobile Money Payments Interoperability System, all crucial to Ghana’s digital advancement.
In response, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of national interest over personal ambition, thanking the UN for its support.
