Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has criticized President John Mahama for allegedly dismissing government employees instead of focusing on job creation.
In a statement on Facebook, he described the move as a betrayal of democratic principles, arguing that a government that campaigned on job creation should not be terminating workers arbitrarily.
He accused Mahama’s administration of targeting public servants hired under the previous government, including security personnel, nurses, and teachers, for perceived political affiliations.
Bawumia further condemned the deteriorating security situation, citing attacks on journalists and military raids.
He urged Mahama to reverse the dismissals and uphold constitutional order, warning that such actions undermine Ghana’s democracy. "Ghana must do better," he emphasized.
