C/R: Baba Gariba Adams confirmed as Assin Fosu MCE with unanimous endorsement from Assembly Members

Baba Gariba Adams has been confirmed as the new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Assin Fosu. He received unanimous support from all 22 Assembly Members present at the ceremony. The event took place at the Centenary Hall in Assin Fosu.

The election was held under tight security and observed by traditional leaders, government officials, and the public. Mr. Adams' confirmation follows the rejection of former nominee Charlotte Boakye. His overwhelming approval is seen as a sign of unity for advancing the municipality’s development.

The Central Regional Minister, Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah, supervised the process. He praised its peaceful and orderly conduct. In his acceptance speech, Mr. Adams thanked the Assembly Members for their trust in him.

He promised to work with all stakeholders on key issues like sanitation and youth unemployment. “I am committed to running an open and inclusive administration,” he stated. “Together, we will transform Assin Fosu into a model municipality.”

Baba Gariba is respected for his humility and grassroots connections. As former NDC Constituency Chairman for eight years, he helped end NPP's 24-year dominance in Assin Central. This achievement boosted his political profile significantly.

Central Regional NDC Chairman Prof Richard Kofi Asiedu praised the Assembly Members for their support. He described Baba Gariba as an ideal leader for the municipality. “He is a unifier, not a divider,” Prof Asiedu said. “His leadership will bring development and inclusiveness to Assin Fosu.”
