The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has received a petition. The petition requests an investigation into Mr. Samuel Gyamfi. He is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board.
The petition was filed by Eric Dumenu Akatsi, a concerned citizen. It cites Article 218(e) of the 1992 Constitution. Mr. Gyamfi is accused of unethical conduct as a public official.
In his letter to CHRAJ Commissioner Joseph Whittal, Mr. Akatsi referenced a viral video. This video allegedly shows Mr. Gyamfi throwing U.S. dollar bills at evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, known as Agradaa. This incident reportedly occurred on May 10, 2025, from his luxury Range Rover.
Mr. Akatsi described this act as “a clear indication of unexplained wealth.” He also claimed that Mr. Gyamfi has two private accounts at Consolidated Bank Ghana. One account is in Ghana cedis and the other in U.S. dollars, with deposits over GHS 100 million.
The petition states that these accounts had no substantial inflows before his current position. It concludes that the dollar-splashing incident suggests suspected corruption.
Mr. Akatsi cited his civic duty under Article 41(f) of the Constitution. He urged CHRAJ to investigate the source of Mr. Gyamfi’s alleged wealth and financial activities.
