The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has received a petition. The petition requests an investigation into Samuel Gyamfi. He is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board.
A citizen named Eric Dumenu Akatsi submitted the petition. He asks CHRAJ to use its powers under Article 218(e) of the 1992 Constitution. Mr. Akatsi claims Mr. Gyamfi's conduct does not meet ethical standards for public officials.
In his letter to CHRAJ Commissioner Joseph Whittal, Mr. Akatsi referenced a video. This video allegedly shows Mr. Gyamfi throwing U.S. dollar bills at evangelist Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, known as Agradaa, from his luxury Range Rover on May 10, 2025.
Mr. Akatsi argues that this act indicates unexplained wealth. He also claims that Mr. Gyamfi has two private accounts at Consolidated Bank Ghana—one in cedis and one in dollars—with combined balances over GHS 100 million.
He stated, “Prior to his current position, these accounts never had substantial inflows.”
Mr. Akatsi believes this behavior suggests suspected corruption based on mathematical evidence.
He emphasized that he is fulfilling his civic duty under Article 41(f) of the Constitution. He urges CHRAJ to investigate the source of Mr. Gyamfi’s wealth thoroughly.
