The National Executive Council of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), will meet on February 22 to assess its ongoing strike and decide on the next steps.
Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo urged members to uphold the strike until further notice.
The protest stems from the continued tenure of Samuel Adom Botchway as head of the Births and Deaths Registry, despite earlier assurances of his removal.
CLOGSAG insists his appointment violates the constitutional neutrality of the Civil Service, citing a 2017 Supreme Court ruling.
The government, however, has defended the appointment, with Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu urging CLOGSAG to reconsider the strike.
The association remains firm in its stance against political interference in the Civil Service.
