Cash and Gold Bust: Revealing details now could help criminals escape—Agalga

James Agalga James Agalga

James Agalga, Chairman of the Defence and Interior Committee, has addressed concerns from the Minority over the lack of updates on the Sapeiman gold and cash raid.

Speaking on Eyewitness News, he defended the committee’s handling of the issue, stressing that national security considerations must take priority.

Agalga explained that the committee had previously engaged the Defence and Interior Ministers for a briefing. He added that the Minority could have requested another session if they sought further details.

He emphasized the need for discretion in ongoing investigations, cautioning that premature disclosures could aid suspects still at large. He assured that updates would be provided at the appropriate time.

“For now, we won’t disclose further information,” Agalga stated. “At the right time, the responsible ministers will give a full account.”
