Chairman Wontumi falls sick during EOCO interrogation; rushed to the hospital

Benard Antwi Bosiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, has been hospitalized.

His lawyer, Andy Appiah Kubi, was present during his interrogation.

Kubi did not reveal the hospital's name but confirmed Wontumi will stay there until discharged.

Wontumi was taken by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) regarding issues with Exim Bank.

Kubi stated, "My client is receiving treatment and will remain until doctors discharge him."

He added that they have provided a statement to EOCO.

Allegations were made against Wontumi, and he responded to them.

The interrogation is not complete; they plan to return tomorrow if Wontumi's health improves.

Additionally, Kubi mentioned receiving a writ of summons from Exim Bank.

They will respond to this in court tomorrow and mount a defense.

Kubi believes this is a civil matter due to the writ issued by Exim Bank.

He is confident they can also defend against the criminal investigation allegations.
