NPP Chairman Wontumi, despite facing political harassment, seeks no revenge.
He made this clear during private conversations.
Hon. George Oduro, a former MP, shared Wontumi's thoughts.
Wontumi, whose real name is Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, has no plans for retaliation.
Oduro stated, “Chairman Wontumi told me he isn’t planning to retaliate against the NDC.”
He described Wontumi as forgiving and someone who doesn’t hold grudges.
Even within his party, he remains magnanimous.
“There were people he helped in the NPP who turned their backs on him,” Oduro noted.
“Yet he didn’t seek revenge during the party’s executive elections.”
This news comes after Wontumi's recent encounter with the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).
He was arrested on May 27, 2025, and granted bail of GH₵50 million with two sureties.
His arrest caused political tension among NPP supporters.
Many believe it was an attempt to silence a powerful regional leader.
The charges involve investigations into fraud and illegal mining activities.
Supporters argue that it is a politically motivated witch hunt.
Despite this turmoil, Wontumi remains calm and calls for peace.
He promises that when power shifts, there will be reconciliation instead of revenge.
