The Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) has responded to allegations raised by Member of Parliament Samuel Nartey George regarding operations at the Akom Axle Load Station.
In a statement issued on December 14, 2024, the GHA clarified that the claims made on a TV3 program did not reflect the authority's operational integrity.
The GHA emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability, stating that appropriate measures, including enhanced supervision, were being implemented during ongoing investigations.
The GHA also clarified that the supervisor mentioned in the allegations temporarily resigned, and was not reappointed after reapplying due to other factors.
The authority reaffirmed its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption and expressed confidence in resolving the issue swiftly.
