Cover the hole and defray cost with Akufo-Addo’s end-of-service benefit—Gyampo to Mahama

Professor Ransford Gyampo Professor Ransford Gyampo

Political Science lecturer Prof. Ransford Gyampo has advised former President John Dramani Mahama to avoid prioritizing the construction of a National Cathedral in Ghana amidst current economic challenges.

Gyampo argues that addressing the financial hole created by the previous government should take precedence.

He suggests using the end-of-service benefits of former President Nana Akufo-Addo to help cover the costs of the unfinished cathedral project.

In an open letter, Gyampo urges Mahama to focus on issues like restructuring the free SHS program and addressing corruption in state land management.

He emphasizes that the national cathedral should not be pursued now, as it was based on Akufo-Addo's personal promise, not a national priority.
