The Ghana Police Service has appointed DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor as the new Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Her appointment was announced in a recent shake-up within the service.
She replaces DCOP Faustina Agyeiwaa Kodua Andoh-Kwofie, who has been reassigned as the Commandant of the Police Training School in Winneba. DCOP Frank Abrokwa will serve as her deputy.
DCOP Donkor previously led investigations into the controversial death of Pooley at Nsoatreman, a case that attracted public scrutiny. Her new role also places her in charge of ongoing high-profile investigations, including the unresolved case of Ahmed Suale.
This leadership reshuffle follows the recent appointment of COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the Inspector General of Police.
