The Concerned Youth of Damongo in the Savannah Region has opposed the disqualification of Mumuni Yahaya, a candidate for the West Gonja Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) position.
At a press conference, the group accused Adam Mutawakilu, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Damongo in the 2024 elections, of orchestrating Yahaya's disqualification.
Sulemana Malik, the lead convenor, described the vetting process as biased, alleging committee members were aligned with Mutawakilu.
Malik claimed Yahaya’s exclusion was due to his ties with influential NDC figures Alhaji Muniru Limuna and Lawyer Zankawah, known for their contributions to the party.
The group warned the vetting committee to reinstate Yahaya, holding them accountable for any unrest if their demands are ignored. They urged party leadership to ensure fairness and transparency.
