Dollar gift saga: 'I feel sorry for Sammy Gyamfi' - Dr Kabiru Mahama

Dr. Tiah Abdul Kabiru Mahama, MP for Walewale, regrets Sammy Gyamfi's actions. Gyamfi is the acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod). He was filmed giving dollars to evangelist Patricia Koranteng, known as Nana Agradaa.

This incident has drawn widespread condemnation. Sammy Gyamfi has apologized and been summoned by the Chief of Staff.

On JoyNews’ The Pulse Show, Dr. Mahama expressed sympathy for Gyamfi. He described him as a promising young person. However, he emphasized that legal standards must be upheld for everyone.

“I feel sorry for Sammy Gyamfi,” Dr. Mahama said. “I wish he hadn’t gotten involved in this.” He added that he holds no personal grudge against him but believes in the law.

The Minority caucus in Parliament demands action from President John Mahama regarding Gyamfi. Dr. Kabiru Tia Mahama criticized Gyamfi's behavior as reckless and arrogant.

He stated that it reflects the arrogance and insensitivity of the NDC government under President John Dramani Mahama. Dr. Mahama also expressed outrage over how financial matters are handled by the government.

He called it an affront to citizens facing inflation and rising living costs.
