Vincent Ekow Assafuah, MP for Old Tafo, has cautioned fellow New Patriotic Party (NPP) members against defending Kwabena Adu Boahene if allegations of state fund misappropriation against him are confirmed.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on March 25, Assafuah stressed that if the claims are proven true, NPP members must not justify or shield Adu Boahene, as nation-building should take precedence over partisan loyalty.
The allegations were disclosed by Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine, who accused Adu Boahene, former Director General of the National Signals Bureau (2017-2025), of embezzling millions meant for a cyber defence project and investing them in real estate locally and abroad.
Reports also suggest he laundered over $2 million through real estate transactions.
