IMANI Africa’s Founding President, Franklin Cudjoe, has urged President Mahama to uphold professionalism and resist partisan influence in decisions regarding Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.

In a Facebook post, Cudjoe described Dampare as a dedicated professional who has transformed policing and enhanced national security.

He cautioned that removing him without cause would be regrettable.

IMANI Vice President, Kofi Bentil, also warned against repeating past political missteps, such as the controversial dismissal of former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo.

Bentil advised Mahama to respect due process and await a Supreme Court ruling if necessary.

Dr. Dampare, who still has five years before retirement, remains at the center of discussions on political interference in security leadership.
