Dormahene urges Mahama to stay resolute in anti-corruption fight

The President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Fredua Agyemang Badu II, has urged President John Dramani Mahama to stay committed to fighting corruption.

He spoke after the arrest of Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi. The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO).

Osagyefo Agyemang Badu II emphasized the need to prosecute those who misuse public funds. He said, “Mr. President, this is the time to demonstrate your resolve.” He urged Mahama not to hesitate in holding previous officials accountable for financial losses.

The Dormahene also reminded President Mahama about his promise for a second campus of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in Nsuatre. He believes this would improve access to higher education in the Bono Region.

Additionally, he called for more government investment in the Bono Regional Hospital.
