John Dumelo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has formally retracted and apologized to his opponent, Lydia Alhassan, the incumbent Member of Parliament and New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate.
Dumelo's apology came after criticism from the Widows Association in Ayawaso West Wuogon, following his unsubstantiated comments suggesting that Lydia Alhassan was responsible for her late husband's death.
In a Facebook post, Dumelo admitted his remarks were inappropriate, explaining they were a reaction to personal attacks against him. He emphasized his commitment to the development of the constituency.
