E/R: Champion ‘resetting agenda’ and ensure inclusive dev’t – Awatey to MMDCEs

Eastern Regional Minister Rita Akosua Awatey has urged newly confirmed Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to start the "resetting agenda." She wants them to promote fair development in all areas of their districts.

Her call followed the confirmation of all 13 MMDCE nominees on May 5, 2025. Speaking to the media in Akosombo, she emphasized unity and development beyond political lines.

"This shows that Ghanaians support the president's resetting Ghana Agenda," she said. She thanked the confirmed municipal chief executives and highlighted expectations for government appointees.

Madam Awatey noted that this administration will not operate as usual. The Eastern Regional Coordinating Council will monitor all 33 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) closely for accountability.

She cautioned confirmed chief executives that their roles are serious. "We must work hard to get things done," she stated. The Minister reaffirmed her commitment to supporting MMDCEs in fulfilling the president’s development goals. She also encouraged them to respond to community needs effectively.
