E/R: Kibi Police probe alleged kidnapping of woman in Asiakwa

The Kibi Divisional Police Command is investigating a kidnapping case.

A 39-year-old woman, Ama Serwaa Konadu, was abducted in Asiakwa. She is a well-known hairdresser and event decorator in the community.

Ama Serwaa left home for work on Tuesday, April 22, when she was taken. The next day, her kidnappers sent nude videos of her to her family.

In the videos, she appeared to be assaulted with a machete. The kidnappers claim they are holding her in Nigeria. They are demanding a ransom of GH¢500,000 for her release.

The victim’s family has filed a complaint with the Ghana Police Service. They have also contacted other security and intelligence agencies. All video evidence has been submitted to aid the investigation.

Residents of Asiakwa are deeply unsettled by this incident. Many are calling for increased police patrols and better security measures in the area.
