EC accuses NDC regional organiser of leading Ablekuma North collation chaos

The Electoral Commission (EC) has accused the Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of orchestrating an attack on its offices during the collation of polling station results for Ablekuma North Constituency.

The incident, which occurred on January 17, 2025, caused significant property damage and left staff members distressed.

This followed a High Court directive to complete and declare outstanding parliamentary election results, with Ablekuma North being the final constituency.

Despite police advice to postpone the exercise, the EC proceeded but lacked enhanced security.

The attack involved destruction of property and threats to staff, with reports of two unidentified men in military attire.

The EC urges police action against perpetrators and seeks government support to ensure secure operations.
