The Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has expressed disappointment that the Electoral Commission (EC) has not agreed to the NDC's demand for a forensic audit of the voter register.

He stated that the EC seems unwilling to allow its processes to be scrutinized, which raises concerns about the integrity of the voter register ahead of the 2024 elections.

Dr. Boamah emphasized that an independent forensic audit would help reassure Ghanaians of the EC's ability to conduct free and fair elections.

This call for an audit aligns with previous concerns raised by the Minority in Parliament, who alleged that the voter register was tampered with and is filled with irregularities.

Despite these demands, the EC has not yet agreed to the forensic audit.
