Mr. Edmund Agboh has been confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ga East Municipal Assembly. He promises a leadership style focused on transparency, inclusiveness, and development.
During his confirmation ceremony, Mr. Agboh thanked President John Dramani Mahama and other key stakeholders. He expressed gratitude to the Minister of Local Government, Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, for their confidence in him.
As a member of the National Democratic Congress, he supports the Party’s vision on local governance. He highlighted the importance of accountability, citizen participation, and innovation in their 'RESET' agenda.
Mr. Agboh acknowledged challenges in Ga East Municipality. These include issues with infrastructure, revenue mobilization, and sanitation.
He committed to leading an open administration that improves Internally Generated Funds (IGF). He plans to develop innovative revenue collection systems.
His development priorities include:
- Road Infrastructure: Upgrading Narhman-Musuku Road to ease congestion.
- Local Roads: Using DRIP machines to improve community road access.
- ECOWAS Highway Project: Completing key roads from President Mahama’s administration.
- Market Development: Expanding markets without displacing traders unfairly.
- Sanitation and Water: Enforcing sanitation policies and addressing water scarcity.
- Security and Land Administration: Ensuring peace and tackling land grabbing issues.
Mr. Agboh will collaborate with Madam Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, the Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya. He aims for successful implementation of these initiatives.
He called for unity among residents regardless of political or ethnic backgrounds. “Development cannot thrive in an environment of division,” he stated.
“We must work together to build a municipality we can all be proud of,” he added.
Mr. Agboh concluded by thanking traditional leaders, party members, family, and religious leaders for their support. He expressed special appreciation for his wife, Christina Selormey Agboh.
“I pledge to serve with integrity and dedication,” he affirmed. “With your support, Ga East will rise to greater heights.”
