Effia MP Slams Sammy Gyamfi Over Dollar Gift To Agradaa, Urges Training For Public Officials

Isaac Boamah Nyarko, the MP for Effia Constituency, has raised concerns about Sammy Gyamfi. Gyamfi is the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board. A viral video shows him giving U.S. dollars to evangelist Nana Agradaa.

In a media interview, Nyarko questioned Gyamfi’s source of wealth. He found it unusual for a public official to give out foreign currency. “I wonder if Sammy Gyamfi has become rich overnight,” he said.

Nyarko stressed the importance of public accountability for government officials. He urged state institutions to scrutinize and prevent such behavior in the future. “It’s crucial for government officials to hold themselves accountable,” he added.

He also suggested that Gyamfi needs guidance on appropriate conduct as a public servant. “Sammy Gyamfi should be advised and trained on how to act right,” he stated.

This controversy follows President John Mahama's launch of a Code of Conduct for Public Officials. The code aims to promote integrity and ethical behavior in government leadership.

Public reaction to the video has been mostly critical. Many citizens are questioning Gyamfi’s actions and calling for a formal investigation into the matter.
