Elikplim Akurugu Hosts Parliamentary Gender Committee At Motherly Love Foundation

On Thursday, Hon. Elikplim Akurugu, the MP for Dome-Kwabenya, hosted the Parliamentary Select Committee on Gender, Children and Social Protection. They visited the Motherly Love Foundation, an orphanage in the constituency.

This visit was part of a three-day tour of selected orphanages nationwide. The committee aimed to assess conditions and identify critical needs in these facilities.

The delegation was led by Hon. Helen Adjoa Ntoso, the committee chairperson, and Hon. Zuwera Ibrahimah, the vice chairperson. During their visit, they interacted with the management and children at the orphanage.

Hon. Ntoso praised Rev. Azumah, the founder and director of Motherly Love Foundation. She described it as “a beacon of hope” and promised support for its challenges.

Rev. Azumah expressed gratitude for their visit and highlighted ongoing issues. These included needs for better access to food, healthcare, clothing, and educational resources.

Hon. Elikplim Akurugu thanked the committee for visiting Dome-Kwabenya. She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting Motherly Love Foundation and vulnerable children in her area.

The visit ended with a pledge from the committee to advocate for stronger government support for orphanages across the country.
