Eric Twum slams Palgrave over Bawumia tour comments

Eric Twum, a member of the New Patriotic Party's communications team, criticized Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah. Boakye-Danquah is a former government spokesperson for governance and security. He recently criticized the party's 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Boakye-Danquah accused Dr. Bawumia of trying to distance himself from the Akufo-Addo administration's failures. This criticism came during Bawumia’s nationwide Thank-you Tour. During the tour, Bawumia mentioned several reasons for the NPP's electoral loss.

He cited issues like arrogance of power and high living costs. He also pointed to the failure to reshuffle appointees and the controversial E-Levy. Additionally, he mentioned the unpopular “haircut” policy related to Ghana’s IMF debt restructuring.

In response, Boakye-Danquah called Bawumia’s comments opportunistic and an attempt to avoid blame. This statement upset many party loyalists, including Eric Twum. Twum expressed his disappointment with Boakye-Danquah's remarks.

He questioned where Boakye-Danquah had come from to make such statements. Twum felt it was inappropriate for Nana Akomea to respond to him instead of letting others handle it. He stated that he was saddened by Akomea’s reaction and wished for a different approach.
