The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has disciplined Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah. He is the party’s Deputy Director of Communications. The action follows his social media comments, which the party finds inappropriate.
A statement from General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong outlines the accusations. Mr. Bempah made several comments that likely violate NPP directives. These directives aim to prevent public discussions that could harm party unity.
The statement stressed that all members must avoid harmful public commentary. This includes any statements that could create disaffection within the party.
In an interview on Oyerepa TV, Mr. Owusu Bempah discussed voter turnout issues. He claimed the choice of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the 2024 candidate disappointed many voters.
Due to his actions, Mr. Bempah has been referred to the National Disciplinary Committee for further action. He is the second NPP member invited to this committee recently, following former MP Adwoa Safo's case.
