Esther A.N. Cobbah: A beacon of purposeful communication

It all started with a signature. Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah needed an endorsement for her IPRA Board candidacy. I was the paid-up member who helped her. Our professional paths crossed, leading to an incredible journey.

Esther Cobbah is not just any communications professional. She is the current President of the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) in Ghana. She is visionary, tireless, and passionate about her work. We have both judged the IPRA Golden World Awards (GWA). While I’ve served for five years, Esther has been on the panel much longer.

My admiration for Esther has grown through our shared experiences at IPRA. Her membership on the IPRA Board recognizes her vast experience and contributions. She is truly soaring in her career. The sky seems limitless for her ambition and talent.

Closer to home, I serve with Esther on the Governing Council of IPR Ghana. I chair the International Relations Committee, alongside her and Ms. Ivy Heward-Mills. Our small team is dedicated to elevating Ghana’s PR practice globally.

Before our committee work, Esther built a transformative legacy with Stratcomm Africa. This agency focuses on total communications and reputation management and was founded three decades ago. Stratcomm Africa has been more than a consultancy; it nurtures ideas and educates future PR professionals.

On May 16, 2025, Stratcomm Africa will host a Homecoming event. This gathering will celebrate alumni and supporters honoring Esther's contributions. Her agency stands on values like integrity, excellence, and service.

Esther Cobbah embodies conviction and quiet strength in communication. Her approach is strategic yet humane; she listens and engages effectively. Despite nearing “three score and ten,” she works with youthful enthusiasm and sage wisdom.

As Stratcomm Africa celebrates its 31st year, I salute Esther Cobbah—mentor, colleague, friend, and trailblazer. May she continue to be guided by good fortune as she impacts many lives through her work.

Esther once said that since its founding 30 years ago, Stratcomm Africa has adapted to industry changes. This adaptability showcases great leadership qualities in her approach to communication.
