Even in moments of displeasure, Presidents have acted with caution towards CJ— Prof. Agyeman-Duah

Former UN Senior Governance Advisor, Professor Baffour Agyeman-Duah, has called for careful consideration regarding the removal of a Chief Justice.

He spoke on JoyNews’ Newsfile about the importance of following constitutional procedures. He warned that actions undermining government balance can harm democracy.

“In a democracy, the Executive should not undermine another arm of government,” he said. He noted that Presidents have historically acted cautiously when unhappy with Chief Justices.

Professor Agyeman-Duah emphasized that concerns about a Chief Justice must follow legal processes. “The Constitution provides a clear process for handling such matters,” he stated.
