Ex-NSB Boss Adu-Boahene rearrested after completing remand

Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former head of the National Signals Bureau, is still in custody. He completed a seven-day remand order from the court.

Adu-Boahene faces charges of stealing, money laundering, and causing financial loss to the state. He was first remanded on May 2 for witness tampering allegations.

On May 13, his lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea told the court about a new arrest. Details of this new arrest were not provided. The Attorney General mentioned that Adu-Boahene is under investigation related to Ghana Water Limited.

The current case involves an alleged diversion of GH¢49.1 million. The judge has postponed proceedings until May 26 for a case management conference.

The state has submitted all witness statements and will share them with the defense by May 20. Atta Akyea described the charges against Adu-Boahene as weak and lacking substance.
