Findings against Wontumi alarming - NDC's Beatrice Annan

Beatrice Annan, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team, called the findings against Bernard Antwi Boasiako "alarming" and "scary."

She spoke on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on June 2. Annan praised Wontumi's lawyer, Andy Appiah Kubi, for his "wise" and "reconciliatory" approach. She noted that Kubi seems aware of the seriousness of the situation.

"The allegations against Chairman Wontumi are frightening," she said. "Kubi's demeanor shows he is a wise lawyer." She added that Kubi understands what the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) knows.

Annan suggested that the NPP is reacting out of fear and anxiety. She believes they worry about potential consequences from the investigations.

"The NPP fears that if the NDC acts as they did before, many will not survive," she stated.

She criticized the NPP for being disorganized and neglecting their members' welfare. "This shows that they are not concerned about their leadership or members," she said.

Annan mentioned that investigations into Wontumi's case are extensive. They involve both EOCO and the FBI. "This investigation is murkier than you think," she concluded.
