Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has been declared a fugitive by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), which alleges he has fled Ghana to evade corruption investigations.
Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, speaking at a press conference, urged Ofori-Atta to return voluntarily or face legal consequences.
The OSP has outlined five major investigations linked to Ofori-Atta:
1. Strategic Mobilization Ghana Limited & GRA Contract – Probing financial dealings between Strategic Mobilization Ghana Limited and the Ghana Revenue Authority.
2. ECG & Beijing Technology Contract Termination – Investigating the abrupt cancellation of a key energy sector project.
3. National Cathedral Project – Examining procurement and financial mismanagement.
4. Ambulance Procurement – Scrutinizing contracts for 307 ambulances.
5. GRA’s Tax Refund Account Payments – Reviewing alleged irregularities in tax refund disbursements.
Authorities are intensifying efforts to ensure accountability in these cases.
